Schola Gregoriana Pragensis

The ensemble belongs to foremost world interpreters of medieval sacral music. Its founder and art director David Eben focuses on the semiological interpretation of Gregorian chant according to the earliest neumatic sources from the period of 10th and 11th centuries, as well as on the presentation of the original Bohemian and European plainchant traditions including the 15 and 16 century early polyphony.
The ensemble has studied about twenty concert programs referring to various liturgical periods, topics and regions.

The Schola co-operates in various projects with a whole range of top-notch Czech and foreign interprets (the ensemble of Japanese talapoins Ohara Gjosan shomjo kenkju-kai, Jiří Bárta - cellist, Jaroslav Tůma – organist, Choeur gregorien de Paris, Musica Florea, Varmuza’s, etc.).
The ensemble performs at important Czech and foreign music festivals and so far has recorded 13 CDs and many valuable radio recordings.
