Concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, soloist and chamber musician who has been one of the most outstanding talents of his generation since childhood. During his studies with Magdalena Micková and later Jiří Fischer, he gained many awards from national and international competitions. He regularly attended Václav Hudeček’s courses.
In 2010 he became the youngest laureate in the Prague Spring International Competition and a year later he became the youngest soloist of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2014 he won the first prize in the prestigious Fritz Kreisler’s international violin competition in Vienna. He is a laureate of the Jiří Bělohlávek Prize.
At the invitation of the conductor Jiří Bělohlávek, he took up the post of concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic, where he is still active today. During the summer tour in 2015 he was concertmaster of the European Youth Orchestra under the direction of conductors Gianandrea Noseda and Xian Zhang.
He made his London debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, fifty years after the violinist Václav Hudeček made his debut. In the United States he performed with the St Louis Symphony and the Florida Orchestra, in Dubai with the Wiener Concert Verein, in China with the Slovenian Philharmonic, in Korea with the Daejeon Philharmonia, in Tokyo with the Asian Youth Orchestra, and in Zurich's Tonhalle with the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra. In 2022, he appeared in concerts with the Czech Philharmonic under the batons of conductors Franz Welser-Möst and Wayne Marshall. In May of the same year he hosted the Berlin Philharmonic as concertmaster. In January 2023 he performed for the third time in a row with the Bamberger Symphoniker under Jakub Hrůša. This year he made his debut with the renowned conductor John Eliot Gardiner. In April, he performed with the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie under the baton of Howard Griffiths.
He has also performed with the MDR Leipzig Radio Orchestra, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, National Radio Orchestra of Romania, Lappeenranta City Orchestra, The Symphonia Boca Raton Florida, Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester, Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, Slovak Philharmonic, Kalisz Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Filharmonia Czestochowska, State Philharmonic Košice. Early this year he performed with the Bamberger Symphoniker under the guidance of Jakub Hrůša. In May 2022 he hosted the Berlin Philharmonic as concertmaster.
He has worked with conductors such as Maxim Vengerov, Semyon Bychkov, John Eliot Gardiner, David Robertson, Jakub Hrůša, Tomáš Netopil, Michael Gamba, Jordan de Souza, Keith Lockhart, Stephane Deneve, Howard Griffiths, Heiko Mathias Förster, Risto Joost, Han-Na Chang, James Judd, Manuel López-Gómez, Petr Altrichter, Tomáš Brauner, Ondrej Lenárd, Jan Talich, Petr Vronský, Jac van Steen or Vladimir Fedoseyev.
Since January 2008 he has been a member of the Lobkowicz Trio. With this piano trio he won the 3rd prize at the Antonín Dvořák International Chamber Music Competition in 2014 and the 1st prize and the audience prize at the Johannes Brahms International Music Competition in September of the same year. The ensemble's most recent CD featuring works by Beethoven and Voříšek was released by Rubicon Classics.
Antonín Dvořák's complete work, which he recorded for the ONYX CLASSICS label with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra under James Judd and pianist Lukáš Klánský, has received excellent reviews. In spring 2022 he made a studio recording of Mozart VC No. 2 with the Vienna ORF and conductor Howard Griffiths, which will be included on a new CD. He is also currently preparing a new CD of works by Suk, Mendelssohn and Schubert. He plays a 1770 N. Gagliano violin, generously on loan from the Fidula Foundation.
